Making an Impact Like Never Before

The 2020 CUPS Annual Report to the Community

“In light of the continued human and financial toll of the COVID-19 pandemic, the power of community has never been stronger, and we look back on this last year inspired by your commitment and generosity.

- Carlene Donnelly, CUPS Executive Director

This month, CUPS released its 2020 Annual Report to the Community. The report covers CUPS’ operational highlights from the last fiscal year and how our integrated care approach, based on brain science, is making an impact. Through client stories and key impact points, we’re proud to share how we’ve supported the staggering 1 in 10 Calgarians who are living with poverty and trauma.

Perhaps most importantly, the report highlights how our community is stronger, together.

When a client walks through the doors at CUPS, they are welcomed by a multidisciplinary team of care-coordinators, clinicians, specialists, educators and counsellors and engage with our external partners to create a custom care plan that is suited specifically for the complex needs of that person’s story. They are supported by a team of 155 staff and over 1,000 volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure our operations run smoothly and no one gets left behind.

This is Integrated Care. And you — our supporters — are helping them get to the root of their problems, remove sources of stress and add positive factors to build resilience in all areas of their lives. As a community,  we achieved amazing things in 2019/2020:

  • 9,293 active clients (a 15% increase over previous year)

  • 30,386 visits to CUPS Health Services

  • 485 individuals and families accessed housing support

  • 49% of active clients engaged across Health & Human Services programs and supports

  • 118 caregivers attended classes to improve their parenting skills

  • 9,220 Resiliency Tool assessments completed to date

  • 148 expectant moms visited the Women’s Health Clinic

  • 672 individuals served by the CUPS Dental Clinic

  • 64 preschool children enrolled at the CUPS Child Development Centre

  • 171 children accessed CUPS childcare services

  • 100% of CUPS services remained accessible during COVID

Thank you for being our partner in the work we’re doing to help individuals and families.
