Making Connections Through Integrated Care

The 2021 CUPS Annual Report to the Community

“The pandemic has made us all feel a little more vulnerable. We don’t know what the next year will bring in terms of recovery and there are still many unknowns. What we do know is we want to sustain the resilience, empowerment and connections that have been so important in the last year.” - Carlene Donnelly, CUPS Executive Director

In the last year, more than 9,100 Calgarians received support from CUPS. This is just one of many powerful numbers released this month in the 2021 Annual Report to the Community

This year, the report highlights powerful stories of resilience and success through a year like no other. It explores the impact of the Assisted Self-Isolation Site, a partnership with The Alex, looks at how we pivoted as an organization to ensure no one fell through the cracks, and dives deeper into CUPS Connect 2 Care program.

Above all, the report highlights the power of connections and partnerships to support our vulnerable population with an integrated care model.

With your support, we were able to directly impact the lives of thousands in our community last year:

  • 9,156 Calgarians received support at CUPS

  • 78,405 points of service across all programs

  • 5,099 individuals accessed CUPS health services

  • 288 individuals connected to opioid treatment within one day of referral

  • 561 clients received mental health counselling and treatment (on-site or remotely)

  • 209 caregivers participated in educational programming to improve their parenting skills

  • 58 children between 3-6 years were enrolled in the Child Development Centre

  • 100% of Kindergarten students graduated to Grade 1

Thank you for being our partner in the work we’re doing to help individuals and families in Calgary to overcome challenges and build resilience for the future, especially during a pandemic.
