Grey Cup to Appear at Breakfast
The Grey Cups is coming to CUPS! With the book closed on the NHL season for Calgary, and with Spring finally beginning to unfold, sports fans are turning their attentions to the 2009/10 CFL Season and the Calgary Stampeders bid to repeat as Grey Cup Champions. For the past 16 years, CUPS has partnered with the Stampeders and with Apache Canada for the CUPS / Calgary Stampeders Kickoff Breakfast. This year's event, to be held at the Hyatt Regency Calgary is on May 21. One of the great features of this breakfast event is the presence of current and past players giving fans the opportunity to rub shoulders with the likes of Henry Burris and Stu Laird. This year, breakfast organizers are thrilled to welcome another special guest. With the help of ConocoPhillips, the Grey Cup will make an appearance at the Breakfast giving sports fans and CUPS supporters a rare opportunity to see the venerated trophy up close and even possibly, to have their picture taken with it. This is extra exciting as several members of the 2009 Grey Cup Champion Calgary Stampeders, including CUPS' Player Representative Jeff Pilon, will be on-hand to celebrate. The 17th annual CUPS / Calgary Stampeders Breakfast, sponsored by Apache Canada, will raise much-needed support, funding and awareness for CUPS Health & Education Centres.
