2,778 Pairs of Socks Donated to CUPS by Centennial High School in Calgary

Students from Centennial High School in Calgary, on Friday June 11, 2010, officially brought their two week "Socks for CUPS" donation drive to an end.
A total of 2, 778 socks were donated by students and staff in efforts to support CUPS' in its work among the poor in calgary.

Students from the art and math departments of Centennial High School have over the past 3 years been great ambassadors of their school in reaching out to those less fortunate in Calgary. Their involvement in the community, through CUPS, have been in areas such as wreath deliveries for CUPS and participating in CUPS’s winter food drives. The Principal for Centennial High School, Matt Christison and art and math teachers, Mel Wolski and Darren Ostrander, have been the motivating factors in the lives of these students in reaching out to their community.
This year, Centennial High School is once again showing its commitment to helping the poor in community through its socks drive for CUPS. With these socks, children and families who visit CUPS’s One World Child Development Centre, CUPS’s Family Resource Centre and CUPS’s Health Clinic stand to benefit greatly.
CUPS wishes to express its gratitude to Principal Matt Christison, Mel Wolski , Darren Ostrander, the students and staff of Centennial High School for their generous donations not only in kind but in deed as well. Their contributions over the years has helped CUPS make a difference in many lives. Thanks Centennial High.
