Scattered sites –  Mobile Community Development Support Worker

(2 FT PERMANENT, 37.5 HR/WEEK)

The Mobile Community Developer will be part of a team responsible for integrating previously homeless participants to their communities.  These individuals will report on progress of individuals finding social inclusion in scattered sites across Calgary, liaise with staff and building managers to ensure participants are connected to services and programs throughout Calgary. This position will ensure that participant information is collected and properly administrated into the database to ensure accurate reporting of outcomes. Focused on those exiting homeless to re-integrate into their new community through social integration.

 

Housing situation is supported, however these folks are requiring assistance connecting with appropriate social supports. These individuals will report on progress of community through outcome star database through CUPS ETO. This position will ensure that participant information is collected and properly administrated into the database to ensure accurate reporting of outcomes.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: :

  • Create a deeper relationship with our community, by acting as a formal welcome to previously homeless individuals who have been housed in scattered sights throughout Calgary
  • Educate about social stigma associated with previously homeless individuals
  • Help communities understand the challenges participants face
  • Demonstrate the strength of the inclusiveness, by bringing awareness and understanding to communities that have housed previously homeless individuals and families.
  • Integrate participants during a traumatic life transition
  • Reduce anxiety from shelter to community living
  • We can help to integrate participants during a traumatic life transition
  • Reduce anxiety from shelter to community living
  • Individuals understand different roles of established community-based supports and are accessing those resources independently
  • Individuals have adequate financial resources to meet financial obligations of lease
  • Individual is stable in housing
  • Individuals are more healthy and are engaged in meaningful daily activities
  • Individuals and/or families are supported to participate in their community
  • Individuals and/or communities have strong natural supports
  • Treat all clients with dignity and respect.
  • Foster and maintain excellent relationships with health care providers and other service providers involving tenant’s needs.
  • Data integrity within ETO

 

 

 

The successful candidate will possess a degree in Social Work, Humanities, or related field and have knowledge of the landlord and tenant act of Alberta, facilities management and the ability to work well independently on several projects concurrently.   This individual must possess excellent communication, organizational and creative thinking skills.
