LPN – Licensed Practical Nurse
CUPS (Calgary Urban Project Society) is a non-profit organization that was established in 1989 with the aim of helping people overcome the challenges of poverty and attain brighter futures.
CUPS believes that the science of building brains and resiliency is essential to the work of helping adults and families achieve self-sufficiency and needs to be applied in all of their practice. Advocating at a systems level to reduce barriers to services among CUPS target population is also critical to how CUPS works that assists adults and families in Calgary living with the adversity of poverty and traumatic events to become self-sufficient.
We have an immediate opening for 0.8 FTE EXPERIENCED Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) within our downtown Primary Care Clinic at a 0.8 FTE to provide opioid replacement therapy (ORT) care.
The successful candidate will be a registered LPN in AB with at least 3-5 years of direct clinic experience and will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, the ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team by contributing to the assessment of integrated primary care and addictions treatment, improved substance use measures, abstinence rates, provider-patient relationships planning, implementation and evaluation of required care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner or Medical Dr.
The LPN is responsible for planning nursing care for CUPS Medical as required by individualized client needs while adhering to recognized nursing techniques, procedures, and established standards based on the scope of practical nursing. This individual will possess good communication and organizational skills, the ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team by contributing to the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of required care. Responsibilities will also require phlebotomy experience, knowledge of drug screens, INR and utilizing WOLFE EMR.
Must have immunization certificate or be able to attain within 3 months.
