Development Coordinator
CUPS (Calgary Urban Project Society) is a non-profit organization that was established in 1989 with the aim of helping people overcome the challenges of poverty and attain brighter futures. CUPS believes that the science of building brains and resiliency is essential to the work of helping adults and families achieve self-sufficiency and needs to be applied in all of their practice. Advocating at a systems level to reduce barriers to services among CUPS target population is also critical to how CUPS works that assists adults and families in Calgary living with the adversity of poverty and traumatic events to become self-sufficient. CUPS was recently recognized as one of Canada’s Top Ten Most Impactful charities and received the United Way Spirit of Gold Social Innovation award.
We have an immediate full-time position for an experienced Development Coordinator to support the Fund Development and Financial Strategies team. This is a 1.0 FTE position.
The Development Coordinator possesses a robust skillset, thrives on varied work projects, prides themselves on being a knowledge hub in the office and enjoys interdisciplinary team collaboration. Day to day responsibilities include issuing compliance tax receipts, maintaining accurate and complete donor records, analyzing and disseminating database content to generate reports, supporting event planning and execution and assisting with some grant and proposal writing as required. This role will work in collaboration with accounting, events and fund development staff and will report to the Grants Manager, Fund Development. The Development Coordinator will be responsible for facilitating communication and information flow across teams and is committed to driving excellence by constantly seeking better and more efficient ways to get things done. The role requires a person in possession of excellent problem solving and organizational skills who can prioritize effectively.
The successful candidate will possess a post-secondary certificate or diploma or equivalent and have at least three to five years’ experience in a professional office environment. The candidate must have superior excel capabilities, confidence in writing ability, strong working knowledge of Microsoft office suite and a prior knowledge of generating reports from databases. Strong knowledge of Raiser’s Edge would be a must.
