Community Development Support Worker

(1 FT PERMANENT, 37.5 HR/WEEK)

OPPORTUNITY # 2017-004

The Community Development Support Worker will be responsible for building and mentoring Tenant Boards within a distinct housing property.  This individual will report on progress of community being developed within these buildings, liaise with building managers to ensure they are adequately resourced for day to day operations, screening of new tenants and implement building safety. This position will ensure that participant information is collected and properly administrated into the database to ensure accurate reporting of outcomes. Follow up with landlords and tenants to ensure financial accountability is mandated.

The successful candidate will possess a degree in humanities, social work or related field and have knowledge of the landlord and tenant act of Alberta, facilities management and the ability to work well independently on several projects concurrently.    This individual must possess excellent communication, organizational and creative thinking skills. Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license, with the ability to transport themselves from CUPS main site to the housing property.
