CUPS (Calgary Urban Project Society) is a non-profit organization that was established in 1989 with the aim of helping people overcome the challenges of poverty and attain brighter futures.

CUPS believes that the science of building brains and resiliency is essential to the work of helping adults and families achieve self-sufficiency and needs to be applied in all of their practice. Advocating at a systems level to reduce barriers to services among CUPS target population is also critical to how CUPS works that assists adults and families in Calgary living with the adversity of poverty and traumatic events to become self-sufficient.

Community Development Support Worker – Acadia Building

(1 FT PERMANENT, 37.5 HR/WEEK)

OPPORTUNITY # 2017-025  

The Community Development Support Worker will be responsible for building and mentoring Tenant Boards within our Acadia housing complex.

This individuals will report on progress of community being developed within these buildings, liaise with building managers to ensure they are adequately resourced for day to day operations, screening of new tenants and implement building safety. This position will ensure that participant information is collected and properly administrated into the database to ensure accurate reporting of outcomes. Follow up with landlords and tenants to ensure financial accountability is mandated.

The successful candidate will possess a degree in humanities, social work or related field and have knowledge of the landlord and tenant act of Alberta, facilities management and the ability to work well independently on several projects concurrently. This individual must possess excellent communication, organizational and creative thinking skills. Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license, with the ability to transport themselves from CUPS main site to the housing property.
