Volunteer Position Title: Cobbs Bread program – Delivery
Reports To: Bankview Community Developer – Emily Barca
Location: Bankview Building, #1702 – 23 Ave SW, Marda Loop Cobbs, 3433 – 22 St SW
CUPS (Calgary Urban Project Society) is a non-profit organization that was established in 1989 with the aim of helping people overcome the challenges of poverty and attain brighter futures. Since then, our work has evolved and expanded to include services in Health, Education and Housing that are delivered to thousands of adults and families each year. Through integrated healthcare, education and housing, CUPS and its partners will assist adults and families in Calgary living with the adversity of poverty and traumatic events to become self-sufficient.
Position Summary: Assist with the pick-up and delivery of donated bread from Cobbs to the Bankview building.
Responsibilities (but not limited to): Drive to Cobbs in Marda Loop, 3433 – 22 St. SW and collect the bread set aside for CUPS Bankview program participants, and deliver bread to the Bankview location.
This occurs every Friday night at 9:00PM, along with other volunteers already assisting. This opportunity would be adding one more individual to the roster to ensure this amazing donation can continue.
Preferred experience : Must be have a vehicle and be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
