Thus, revolutionary diplomats are held to be subversive in two senses, in what they actually do and how they present themselves. They are not what they appear to be. From within the radical traditions of international thought, however, the idea of subversion is troubling, and these troubles are not eased, as they were in the case of accommodation, by unpacking the idea.
